The Upper Rogue’s abundant natural setting, local meats, local produce and a from-scratch kitchen create a fine table at Madrone, the unexpected gem of the upper Rogue. Enjoy the cuisine of Chef Helena Darling in our on-the-river Dining Room and in our convivial Wine Tavern on the site of the former Bel Di’s. Clean, fresh flavors, innovative dishes made with creativity and skill served in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We could be snooty, but we’d rather make great food and wine an every day thing. Local Food
Potatoes from Klamath Falls (our popular twice baked potatoes are big!), Cheese from Rogue Creamery in Central Point, seasonal fruit and vegetables from local farms and Us……… we’re local, too! Our From- Scratch Kitchen lovingly prepares Housemade items like Sausages, Smoked Fish, Bread and Desserts.  Cooking is our passion, our vocation and avocation. We love food! When will you be hungry?



Local Wine
Wines from our backyard and around the region, that make Southern Oregon one of the most diverse wine producing regions in the country. Syrah, pinot gris, tempranillo, viognier, cabernet franc, semillion, malbec, marsanne and a growing list of other varietals made by our neighbors, those skilled grape farmers and winemakers who are helping define the vivid wine culture of Southern Oregon today. Classic cocktails with local touches using herbs and fresh juices nestle side by side with all those wine bottles. And, a good selection of single malt scotch and fresh, local beer is here, too.



Events and Catering
We are experienced event and party planners so putting on a lovely rehearsal dinner, wedding reception, family birthday or business dinner, Madrone-style, is our pleasure. You’ll find excellence, variety and experience in our menus, event planning and staffing. Elegant sit down dinners, picnics, zesty buffets, appetizer stations. Indoor and outdoor seating for 30 to 200.


On the River
The other night, we heard a cheer go up from the deck and dining room. Everyone stopped in mid-bite to watch an osprey pluck a fish from the flowing waters of the Rogue. You can’t beat that! Our main dining room and wine tavern seating, and our decks, are right beside the river which also hosts the occasional flyover from our neighborhood eagle.

One of the most picturesque small towns in America just got a restaurant worthy of its setting.Shady Cove, on the banks of the famed Rogue River in Southern Oregon, is now home to Madrone Kitchen & Wine Tavern.
